      Introducing British Silver is one of a series of new books exploring items acquired by the famous 20th-century Glaswegian shipping magnate and philanthropist Sir William Burrell and Constance, Lady Burrell, his wife, for their vast collection of art.Following the donation of the entire collection to the City of Glasgow in 1944, it was not until 1983 that the dedicated Burrell Collection museum opened in Pollok Country Park.
