The original artwork is by Schabelsky, who produced a number of travel posters in the 1930s, and was printed by Vincent Brooks, Day & Son Ltd, Lithographers, London.
The isle of Skye is one of the most dramatically beautiful of all the Hebridean islands. At fifty miles long, it is also the largest of the Inner Hebrides and boasts a rich history and a huge range of wildlife. It is also a top destination for walkers and climbers – the island’s spectacular Cuillin range is world-famous and contains 12 Munros (mountains above 3,000 feet). This vintage railway poster, from c. 1932, was produced for the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER), promoting rail travel to Skye.
